Highly acclaimed trombone quartet Bones Apart – Helen Vollam, Jayne Murrill, Becky Smith and Lorna McDonald – bring together a wealth of performing experience at the highest level, from symphony and chamber orchestra, early and contemporary music, to brass band and jazz. Their programme for Bradfield on June 27 is called ‘El Nuevo Mundo’ and is based around Spanish, American and Latin music with works by Gershwin. Bizet, Abreu and Bernstein.
The week’s other major brass evening is on June 24 when Fine Arts Brass, the UK’s leading brass quintet, present a concert of works by classic composers from Bach to Michael Nyman. The members of this quintet are of the highest calibre. Fine Arts Brass Ensemble is the longest-lived, the most innovative, the most widely travelled and the most highly acclaimed British Brass Ensemble. FAB has given over 3000 concerts since its inception in 1980, and has played in more than 60 countries, often representing the British Council.
